Saint Pius X Plaque Program & Statue Relocation Fund

The Saint Pius X Alumni Association has commissioned a bronze plaque in honor of the history and legacy of Saint Pius X Preparatory Seminary.  The plaque will be installed in the main corridor of the Immaculate Conception Seminary, West Neck Road, Lloyd Harbor, New York, and unveiled on May 20, 2017.

The unveiling ceremony will be preceded by a Te Deum prayer service and followed by a catered reception at the seminary. The ceremony and reception will be open to all, and we hope that faculty and you, the alumni, and your family will be able to attend.

At this time, we ask Alumni to consider a donation to the project. We ask you for a contribution to cover the cost of the plaque and its installation, with the overage going towards preparing an entertaining catered reception, and with further overage being given as a gift to charity in memory of deceased Pius alumni and faculty.  We consider no donation “too small.”  Those who are able, we ask you to consider a $100.00 gift to assure that the plaque and its unveiling event is memorable and enjoyable and our gift to charity meaningful. Write checks payable to “Saint Pius X Alumni Association” and send to St. Pius Alumni Association, c/o Cathedral Prep, 56-25 92nd Street, Elmhurst, New York   11373.

You are cordially invited to the unveiling ceremony of the Saint Pius X Preparatory Seminary Commemorative Plaque May 20, 2017 at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception, 440 West Neck Road, Lloyd Harbour, New York, where the plaque will be installed in lasting recall of the contributions and legacy of Saint Pius X Preparatory Seminary and its alumni and faculty.  Please RSVP.

We hope you can attend!

You might also be interested that we have successfully negotiated that the statue of Saint Pius affixed to the building of our alma mater at 1220 Front Street be gifted to us by the new owners of the building. The statue will be removed from the building’s facade and re-located on the campus of Kellenberg Memorial High School in Uniondale.  Kellenberg was generous to extend this extraordinary hospitality.  It is the campus nearest the former site of our high school, and stands as the successor to excellence in secondary Catholic education on Long Island. We are soliciting further donations for this project, a project that will require skilled contractors and heavy-duty tools and vehicles to move the 20 foot, 6700 pound iconic statue.  Please be generous.

We look forward to hearing from you!  Please mark your calendars and plan to be on hand for this milestone moment for Saint Pius alumni.
