Young Alumni Networking Night held on Sep. 18, 2008
On September 18, 2008 the Cathedral Alumni Association hosted its first Networking and Noshing event at Connolly's Corner, Maspeth. The evening was a relaxed opportunity for alumni from different years to discuss their work and to connect with one another. Jim Dilg, Fr. John Cush and Tim McCleary were present, along with Fr. Kevin Sweeney, the Diocesan Vocation Director, and a number of alumns from different walks of life including law enforcement, human resources, finance, law, health care, sales, and insurance. The Alumni Association hopes that events like this can help younger alums to learn about different career paths and make lasting connections. If you're a young alumn and you missed the event, you missed the chance to speak to a senior partner at one of the nation's most prestigious law firms, the CEO of a major health care corporation, the head of a human resources department at one of the nation's largest financial companies, two young entrepreneurs starting their own insurance business from scratch, among other accomplished men who have achieved success in their chosen fields of work. While the numbers were low the spirit was grea t and we look forward to planning another Networking and Noshing evening in the near future. Keep your eyes open!
