2021 Annual Appeal A letter from Father Kuroly: May 2021 Dear Friends of Cathedral, This past year has been a time of deep hardship and struggle for all of us. And throughout the year, the Cathedral Prep family has remained together with a profound sense of hope. For us as disciples of Jesus Christ, hope is the light that guides our pilgrim journey on this earth. The hope that springs from the love of a God who loves each of us personally and intimately with Grace that knows no bounds. The hope which lies in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The hope that lies in the life of the Church which sustains us and nurtures us with the sacramental life and the call of the Gospel. A way for us to renew this hope is through the efforts made in Cathedral Prep's Annual Appeal. For the work at Cathedral Prep in the coming months will indeed be to reawaken and strengthen hope as we move out of this pandemic and into a genuine renewal of the academic, spiritual, and social life at Cathedral. This reawakening can only take place through the generous support from people like you. The funds for the Annual Appeal this year will go to tuition assistance, which brings hope to families struggling economically due to this pandemic and other reasons. The funds will support our discernment and spiritual programs, that help our young men come to know their vocation. The Appeal will support our athletic programs and school events in its focus on strengthening the fraternity at Cathedral. And the Appeal will help enhance the technology and structural care of the building, to give students a safe and healthy environment to learn. In our Annual Appeal you will be bringing hope to our students. Therefore, I ask you to prayerfully consider supporting this splendid work of the Lord. Cathedral needs you now and always. Sincerely yours in Christ, Very Reverend James A Kuroly Rector-President Below is the 2021 Annual Appeal Brochure To donate to our Annual Appeal please go to: https://www.cathedralprepalumni.com/donations/donate.asp?id=19668 _____________________________________________________________
Passing of Mr. Joseph Russo, Class of 1979 Dear Alumni and Friends of Cathedral: It is with great sadness, we inform you of the death of Mr. Joseph Russo, Class of 1979, Assistant Principal and teacher who dedicated over three decades to teaching here at Cathedral Prep. Mr. Russo passed away today, Friday, April 9th, surrounded by his family, after having been anointed by Father Kuroly. We wish we could share this very difficult news in person, but unfortunately circumstances did not permit that. When we have more information regarding arrangements, we will inform the entire Cathedral Family. Mr. Russo is now with the Lord and prays for each of us within his beloved school to which he dedicated so much of his life. Let us now support each other during this time of grief. May he Rest in the Peace of the Risen Christ.
