Pictorial History of Cathedral Prep
Thanks to the Brooklyn Diocese archives, we have a wonderful collection of photos covering the rich history of Cathedral Prep, from its founding in Brooklyn in 1914, to the 1963 opening of the present school in Elmhurst, Queens, right up to the present students and alumni. These images remind us of the generations of outstanding Church and lay leaders, past, present, and future, who have been part of our Cathedral community through the years.
Special thanks to the Office of the Archivist of the Brooklyn Diocese, and two fellow alumni, Pat McNamara '86, former Assistant Archivist, and Joe Coen '75, Archivist, for collecting these pictures. Gentlemen, well done!
We will publish these over time in a series of chapters. Check back often for future installments, and email us with any images you would like to share with your fellow alumni and friends.
